I am a documentary and fine art photographer and I have joined the project ‘Making Suburban Faith’ to undertake a practice-based Ph.D. where I employ photography and visual methods to explore the domestic material cultures of faith in suburbia. My research interests include: photography and portraiture, photographic theory, material culture, domesticity, religion, subjectivity, the body, performativity, affect theory and phototherapy.
Before joining the project, I have been involved in other socially engaged art projects, as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Urban and Community Research at Goldsmiths, where I currently teach in the MA in Photography and Urban Cultures and the Urban Photography Summer School. I also teach photography at the Media and Communications Department, also at Goldsmiths.
My photography has been published and exhibited internationally, including exhibitions at H2O Gallery, Museo Thyssen Bornemisza, Bogotá Contemporáneo, Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña 09, Centro Cultural Blanquerna, Arts Santa Mònica, Talent Latent/Scan09, Espai Cavallers 31-33, and in London at the Rich Mix Centre, Photofusion, The Viewfinder Gallery, Zoom In, Stour Space, Goldsmiths and City University.
I’m also a member of the Association of Urban Photographers
